Southampton (Days 1, 13)

Explore the charms of Englands third-largest seaport. Explore Southamptons archaeological sights - modern Southampton is built on the ruins of ancient Roman and Saxon ports.

Attractions & Activities

Visit the Southampton Maritime Museum, which chronicles the history of Southampton and its significant role as a port for ocean liners, the most famous being the Titanic. Not to be missed is the exhibit "Titanic Voices," where visitors can hear the story of the tragic voyage in the words of survivors and those touched by the tragedy.

Cornwall (Day 2)

Cornwall It's hard to imagine a more beautiful spot than Cornwall. Visit Land's End and Penzance and be sure to bring along plenty of film to capture it all.

Cork (Day 3)

The magnificent Cobh Harbor is just a short drive from Cork. An enchanting place, the main district of Cork sits on an island formed by the diverging channels of the River Lee. The city itself is filled with a multitude of picturesque quays and bridges. Cork is the ideal spot to outfit yourself with Irish tweeds, kiss the Blarney Stone or simply relax and enjoy the charming countryside.

Attractions & Activities

When you're in Cork, you'll want to take the chance to visit Blarney, just five miles away. There you'll find the Blarney Castle, home of Ireland's "Crown Jewel" - the Blarney Stone. Take part in a tradition shared by people from all over the world: kissing the Blarney Stone. It's supposed to bestow the gift of eloquence on anyone who does.

Liverpool (Day 4)

Liverpool is a world city of international renown, with its instantly recognisable waterfront, unique accent and famous sons & daughters. Based in the heart of North-West England, Liverpool is also Britain's favourite day trip destination according to the national tourist board. The waterfront area attracts millions of visitors each year to admire the rejuvenated Albert Dock. The city centre is packed with magnificent buildings and splendid architecture.

Belfast, Northern Ireland (Day 5)

A busy and bustling city, Belfast is thriving with Irish history. Visit the Ulster Museum with its items from the Spanish Armada wreck anda fine collection of traditional houses at the Ulster Folk Museum. Lose yourself in the awesome beauty of the Antrim Coast. Or hail a taxi and make a run for the Catholic Falls Road and the Protestant Shankill Road, site of "the Troubles."

Glasgow-Greenock (Day 6)

Glasgow is the most populous city in Scotland. Glasgow's major cultural institutions enjoy international reputations including The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Burrell Collection, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ballet and Scottish Opera. Greenock is a town in Inverclyde, Scotland, located in the west central lowlands of Scotland. The town is currently the administrative centre of Inverclyde Council. It is a former burgh within the historic county of Renfrewshire, and forms part of a contiguous urban area with Gourock to the west and Port Glasgow to the east.

Kirkwall, Orkney Islands (Day 8)

Just 10 miles off the coast of Northern Scotland is Kirkwall, capital of the Orkney Islands, an area rich in wildlife and archaeological sites. The Neolithic village of Skara Brae was discovered after a storm in 1850, and the site reveals that Orkneys were inhabited as early as 5,000 years ago.

Attractions & Activities

The islands are virtually a museum of prehistoric times. Rock circles, cairns, standing stones, ancient tombs and prehistoric villages are scattered about, gaining these islands international recognition. The Orkneys are also a paradise for bird watchers, with a myriad of puffins, eider ducks, whooper swans and arctic terns. These birds, as well as many other species, nest here during the summer months.

Invergordon (Day 9)

Invergordon is the port for Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands and junction of many routes. Over the centuries, Inverness was often the focal point of clashes between Highland chiefs, and the Crown. Today the town is a popular tourist attraction as well as a gathering place for the clans of the surrounding area. Enjoy the picture-perfect scenery and perhaps an opportunity to chat with a Highlander eager to introduce you to his fabled land and its rich heritage.

South Queensferry (Day 10)

South Queensferry sits on the shore in the shadow of the two Forth Bridges. South Queensferry is a very pleasant place on the southern shore of the gaping Firth of Forth. The two huge bridges that traverse the Forth to Fife dominate the town. The Forth Railway Bridge is one of the icons of Scotland. Built between 1883 and 1890 by Sir John Fowler and Benjamin Baker, this bridge is one of the most magnificent feats of engineering ever. It was designed on the cantilever principle, with three towers, each 340 feet high. The bridge, which is 2765 yards long, was opened on 4th March 1890 by Edward, Prince of Wales.

Le Havre (Day 12)

The port of Le Havre lies at the mouth of the Seine River that flows to romantic Paris, "City of Lights." Paris features the incredible treasures of the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur.

Attractions & Activities

Le Havre's prime location between Honfleur and Normandy offers a huge range of options. It's a gateway to the beaches that witnessed the bravery of D-Day and to the coasts and countryside that inspired so many artists. It's also a good place to visit for its art galleries and cafes, and it offers a relaxing alternative to the half-day commute into Paris.
